As a Lead Complementary Therapist, you will play a crucial role in the development, management, and integration of complementary therapies across Keech Hospice locations.

 

You will inspire a team volunteers and Bank Staff offering a variety of treatments from aromatherapy, reflexology and more, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, personalised, holistic treatment alongside traditional medicine for our patients and families.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Provide hands-on complementary therapy for both children and adult services.
  • Recruit, manage and develop a team of volunteer and bank complementary therapists.
  • Prioritise and delegate the workload, based on patient/carers' needs and therapists' skills.
  • Organise training for volunteers in palliative care and the use of complementary therapies.
  • Conduct comprehensive, holistic assessments of patients, regularly evaluate interventions.
  • Implementation of effective communication structure for patient care information, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records
  • Evidence-based practice in complementary therapy, integrating research into clinical development.
  • Collaborate with fellow complementary therapists in palliative care to stay informed about current sector developments.
  • Maintain and develop an efficient and effective referral system.
  • Innovative approach towards the development of complementary therapy services.

 

What you need

 

  • Level 2 Diploma or recognised qualification ITEC, VTEC, VTCT in complementary therapy or similar field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal abilities with an empathetic approach towards patients and families
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
